Sophie's Experts in Practice Journey

Hi, my name is Sophie and my Experts in Practice research area is Trauma Informed Practice. I am really interested in the impact of trauma on children and young people. Trauma from early life experiences, inter-generational trauma and trauma in the utero. Promoting good practice in this area is something I feel passionately about, and it is an area of focus within Darlington.

  • Solution circles to brainstorm ideas/staff support
  • Key staff briefing meetings
  • Individual development plan
  • Focus on their emotional state and co regulation
  • Connection before correction
